Oh! Its winter again. The lovely white cranes have come from the lands far. I always wondered why I would see them only during the winters.
Keen to learn more, I searched internet. So many astonishing facts, they travel thousands of miles just to protect themselves from harsh and white winters. They come here, every year. They stay for five months, breed and then travel back home with their younger ones.
Its a lovely site watching them in the dewy mornings. I could spend hours together watching them playing in the river. This time there was a cyclone that had brought hail storm here. Unaware of the happenings, I went to the park next morning.
Ah! It was painful, hundreds of the white beauties lying on the green lawns…all dead. I was dumb struck. Really cursed the hail stones. Returned home with a heavy heart. I stopped gojng to the park again.
An year rolled and Winter has come. I am waiting for the cranes. But, they didn’t turn up. Emptiness reigned and heart heavy….
